Missing Her by J. L. Willow

Goodread’s Summary

I got this book while at BookCon and I talked to the author for a little while and had her sign my copy! It was all so exciting at the time, but then when I got home I had so many books from that weekend to be excited about all of them individually. It was more of a general excitement of having been to BookCon. Therefore this book was buried on my shelf and I didn’t think much of it until now.

I added this book to my Reading Rush (aka Book-Tube-A-Thon) TBR because there is a challenge this year to read a book in the same spot the whole time. I picked this book because it was short and I wouldn’t have to stay in one place for long or have to keep coming back to it.

Going into this book I had a sense that I would read it in passing and it would be okay and then I would forget about it. BUT NO, I was wrong. I just finished this book and I will say it has a really good story line! I liked where the plot took me and how we got to each scene. The only problem I would comment on is that I kept seeing solutions to some of the situations that would have made the main character’s life so much easier! Although if they happened then there wouldn’t have been much of a book or story at all so I was okay with it.

The characters were great and engaging and didn’t seem dull. They each had their own personality and struggles, and it was all so interesting to read about. And the best thing is, is that you fly through it all because of the short chapters, different parts, and small amount of pages.

I don’t usually read the thriller/mystery type genres but this book surprised me with how well it was written and how much I actually enjoyed it. Now when I think back to talking with the author it makes the experience so much more vivid and memorable.

So if you are looking for a quick read that will pull you in and keep you under its spell, look no further and grab a copy of Missing Her. This book is J. L. Willow’s second book and it might just make me purchase her first novel.

Happy Reading and let me know what you think!
